Fort Tiracol
Goa
Fort Tiracol Hotel, is a Heritage property located on the northern border of Goa and Maharashtra at the mouth of Tiracol River. A spectacular Ancient fort captured in 1746 by Portuguese merchants from the Raja of Sawantwadi during the colonial era.
Built on a small hill at the mouth of the river, with spectacular views of the ocean, it fell to ruin due to years of abandonment and disuse. It has been restored (more than once) and was in use until recently, as a small boutique hotel. After a change in management, it has been renovated again in an inimitable style with all modern amenities. The hotel, situated atop a cliff has 7 well-appointed rooms with contemporary elegant interiors and was designed in such a way that each one overlooks the breathtaking panoramic view of the horizon and the ocean below.
